Break Fluid Single-Origin
This amazing coffee was picked out by our roaster Eddie when he visited the Gigessa Washing Station personally. It’s a typical washed Ethiopian from the Guji region. Guji is a recent addition to the range of beautiful coffees being exported from Ethiopia. Historically it has been exported as a Sidamo type, but after many years of lobbying the Ethiopian government for a geographical distinction. While the cup profile is quite similar to Sidamo coffees, some people feel that there is a “little something special” in the territory of Guji. Located in the southern portion of Sidamo the people of Guji have a long tradition of coffee cultivation. They are called the Oromo people and the hills and landscape allow for particular cultivars to develop in this region. One of our previous coffees, Kayon Mountain was also from this region and we think Gigessa will be just as popular.
